As an artist, Lynn Piper has been called many things. “Naïve.” “Innocent.” Even, “outsider,” a label she readily accepts. But if an outsider, fellow artist Larry Roots, the director of Modern Arts Midtown, describes her as “an outsider looking in.”
Jeff Baldus is a potter and sculptor. He has an MFA in sculpture from the University of South Dakota and a BA from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa where he is currently an assistant professor of art. Currently he serves on the Sioux City Art Center Board of Trustees.
His use of materials in thoughtful relationships to nature display a mastery of surface and form.
